OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Providing a loving environment for surrendered and stray animals as they search for their forever homes, assisting current pet owners to permanently provide appropriate care for their animals, and engaging community members in the issue of pet homelessness
Safe Haven Humane Society and Outreach Center is a grassroots, nonprofit, volunteer-run animal welfare organization dedicated to helping the pets and people in Northeast Wisconsin. Currently, Safe Haven Humane Society is operating as a foster-based rescue while we search for a new shelter building. Our Raise the Roof Capital Building Campaign is underway, and we hope to open a full-service shelter building in 2018. We need your help to find, renovate, and maintain a permanent facility so we can help even more of the homeless pets in our community.
Safe Haven recently took over the catio space inside the Petco Store, located at 2515 W. Mason St. in Green Bay. We have volunteers there daily at varying hours. We have set hours every Sunday from 12 to 2 p.m. and also participate in Petco Adoption Days the first weekend of each month. Stop by to see us!
Safe Haven Humane Society and Outreach Center is run completely by volunteers! We have no paid staff, and our team is made up of volunteers of all ages and walks of life. Volunteers are extremely important to our organization, and we welcome you to join our team! To learn about volunteering, click here.
As we continue our search for a new building, Safe Haven is operating as a foster-based rescue. All of our pets (other than the cats housed at Petco) are in loving foster homes. We have a desperate need for more foster families so we can continue to take in, rehabilitate, and rehome pets in our community and throughout Wisconsin. Safe Haven Humane Society provides all of the food, supplies, and necessary vet care or training. You just provide the home, consistency, and love our pets need to ready them for adoption.
